Thanks, Ted

Heading back to Yellowstone this morning, and I have to say, it was amazing. We saw a bison -- a bison! -- from 10 feet away.

I had a huge, earnest swell of 'the US is frigging awesome" in the park. We have a great guidebook, and through it, learned that Yellowstone was the very first national park in the world.

"The world?" I asked. "The national park is an American invention?"

Evidently, yes. (Did you know that?)

And also, to give credit where it's due, the result of Teddy Roosevelt and his Republican administration. Imagine that today. But it also goes to show that brilliant ideas come from all quarters.

Loving your blog entries but apparently you forgot something...your camera! I know your iPhone has a fancy little camera on it at the very least. Come on, we want to see photos of sweeping vistas, Bison, or at the least weird signs at the gas station!

See you in Denver!

Like Jody, I'm also lovin the blog. And yes, what a peculiarly American Construction is the concept of a "national park." Bragging about "first in the world," even moreso.

Might see you in Denver, might not.
